According to the Cambridge dictionary. Empowerment means “ the process of gaining freedom and power to do what you want or to control what happens to you.”

.

In order, to be empowered you have to be free first. Free of your own resistance and fears. Today, I want to share some of my practices with you:

.

1.     Dreams don’t work unless you do. The first work you have to focus on yourself, be clear of what you want and make decisions aligned to who you are. If you don’t believe in your ideas and talents you are done.

2.   Don’t judge yourself. One of the most energy draining and negative activities we can practice is judgment. Acknowledge that whatever you did at some point in your life was the best you could with the resources, knowledge you had at that moment.

3.   FORGIVENESS. FORGIVE yourself for your past, bad decision or failure. Release your ideas of what could go wrong and train yourself to see obstacles as opportunities. 
 

Don’t fall into the trap WHY is this happening to me? Instead ask: what is the lesson here?

 

4.     Choose to see the good in everyone and every situation. Its not necessarily easy but it will make you free, focused and will invite creative solutions every step of the way. Choose to learn through love. When you release your need to be right you become clear and compassionate. You will allow yourself to in tune with the source of light and inspiration.

 

5.      Write your manifesto or set of Affirmations! Lots of them! For example: “I am, and always will be, enough.” “I am strong.” “I am living life to my full potential.” “The universe is filled with endless opportunities for my happiness.” “ I am guided and supported by the Universe.” “I am loved because I am love” Take Action On Your Dream and let your message move you.


6.     Get rid of expectations. Don’t look for validation, get results.  You are enough! Just by showing up you are doing a great job.

Divine Love,  I want to thank and offer this day to YOU.

May I serve you through  my words, work, thoughts and actions.

May my mind and heart stay pure and allow me to see love in every situation.

Make me the person You want me to be. I surrender to you. With deep love and divotion please direct my path.

The answer is: yes! You just need to understand you can have it all just not at the same time. Here are my 5 steps to get clear on what you want and achieve your dreams!

“Where focus goes, energy flows” – Tony Robbins

 Get clear. You need to get really honest about what you want, and what you will have to do in order to obtain it.  Remember that energy flows where attention goes. What you focus on, grows. Whatever is the focus of attention becomes more prominent. Invest in focusing on what you really want, don’t waste time overanalyzing, daydreaming, or wishing for something that in the end won´t make you happy and actually will make you feel frustrated, not satisfied. Make a vision board to confirm that everything is aligned with what you want from your heart.

It’s common to listen “I want to be like him or her but they never take a minute and think: Would I be willing to work X amount of hours more per week, sacrifice holidays, travel 290 days a year?, etc.  Do I really want to commit to what it takes to be where this person is? How does happiness and success look like to me?

1.     Be clear on your why

Why do you want this business position or want to offer this product or service. I don’t mean your vision or mission… I mean your purpose and intention behind the desire of doing or pursuing A,B,C. Why this is lighting me up?

2.     Get rid of limiting beliefs because they are limiting your greatness.

Observe your mind patterns. What is your inner dialog when you think about where you want to be in the future. It is common that people dream big about their business or career but when it´s time to take action, make changes to get there. This thoughts like these might come up:

“Maybe I shouldn’t risk what I have. What if everything goes wrong?”

“Who am I kidding? I’m not qualified to do this. I’m not Shark tank material”

“There are so many details and procedures I need to figure out. It will take me a lifetime to be ready.”

“There is a crisis right now. The time isn’t right. I have way too much going on to do this now. I will wait until….”

Write them down not to judge or punish yourself but to understand what is going on in your mind and how it is boycotting your future.

3.     Raise your standards and the Universe will meet you there!

The minute you get clear. Opportunities will start to come your way. Why? Because the Universe knows that when you are clear on your why, what and how, it’s a sign you are ready! Ask for guidance, extend a prayer.

4.      Faith, patience & divine Timing

Trust divine timing and understand that rejection is redirection. Do your work, be clear on what you want. Stay honest, focused and Trust. Doors will open when you are ready. Believe me… its not only  saying I’m ready is actually aligning your thoughts, actions and energy.

7 STEPS FOR A DIGITAL DETOX

 “WHAT YOU SEE REFLECTS YOUR THINKING, AND YOUR THINKING BUT REFLECTS THE CHOICE OF WHAT YOU WANT TO SEE.” – A COURSE IN MIRACLES

We live in a world where we have to be ONLINE, present, active, responsive, fast… sometimes it can get too crazy. The idea of being offline might sound insane and not even possible… specially if you work with them but believe me ITS WORTH IT and it will be OK.

in my case, a few weeks ago, I realized I’ ve been an active user of instagram since 2012! Its been almost 7 years! I decided to take a break for at least 40 days  from Social Media.

Let’s be honest sometimes its hard to stop scrolling down… we live in a world full of distractions that offer us an instant virtual rituality and entertainment that can make us disconnect from reality. We live connected to everyone… you can see what our friends are doing around the world, message them, get nice quotes, jokes, express ourselves, share your plans or style. However, this social playground can make you spend so much time and attention on it… sometimes without even realizing it..

Its fun but it can be dangerous specially if you follow accounts that no necessarily inspire or motivate  you. In some cases, some images or videos can take you to a space of insecurity, judgment or comparison in two seconds.

This is what I discovered….

What I was not expecting was that maybe SM detox was one of the best things I have ever done in a long time! Don’t get me wrong I love to connect and share but sometimes it can make you miss the present.

In case, you want to take a digital or social media detox for a few days, weekend or weeks  here are some of my tips to do it in a graceful way.  You will be in shock, the first 72 hours without having a SM platform to check. It sounds simple and easy but after being used to something for such a long time, it became a habit and in some cases an addiction.

Steps for a Digital detox

1-    Turn off push notifications to focus and practice PRESENCE in the Present and  avoid temptation.

2-    Commit to your practice and get a journal: write, draw, paint.

3-    Observe your thoughts and write them down. What happens when you don’t have social media, have news from your friends or your must-watch/read accounts.

4-    Make your bedroom a no tech space. * this should be something you do forever, not just 40 days.

5-    Have a plan of what you want to do during your tech-free hours.

6-    Bon Appetit! Enjoy your meals, meditation space, music and daily routine. Notice the ordinary-extraordinary moments we have during the day.

7-    Dress for yourself, drink the matcha, cappuccino, smoothie  and take a picture- only for yourself. Let life fall in love with you all over again.

**** and when you come back to the digital world enjoy your new way of using digital platforms. Stay connected, present and keep your breaks. 🙂

Nourishing banana bread

The dry mix

  • 1 1/3 cup of coconut/cashew flour or regular
  • 1 pinch of Himalayan salt
  • ½ cup of oats
  • GHEE optional
  • 2 tablespoons of coconut sugar
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 pinch of cinnamon 
  • 1 pinch of cacao nibs, almonds if you like.

 

The wet mix

  • 2 big bananas or 4 medium
  • 1/3 cup of milk of your choice. I suggest almond or coconut
  • 1 drop of vanilla stevia
  • 2 tablespoons of flaxseed
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ tsp coconut oil

Method

Preheat 350 degrees for 1.5 hours. 

Lightly spray a 9×5-inch loaf pan with coconut oil or GHEE and set aside.

Now, in a large bowl, mash the banana until it is almost smooth and add  the wet ingredients (milk, ground flax, melted  coconut oil, honey,) into the banana until combined.

Mix all the dry ingredients (sugar, oats, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and flour) into the wet mixture until everything is even and you don’t see flour patches at the bottom of the bowl.

Place the mix dough into the loaf pan and spread out evenly. Here you can add some almonds or cacao nibs if you want. 

Bake for 45 -50 mins 

Place the loaf pan on a cooling rack for 30 minutes before turning out.

Slice and enjoy!

HOW TO HEAL YOUR HEART USING THE HO’OPONOPONO PRACTICE

Healing comes with love and forgiveness – To “for-give” is a process of giving forth. In forgiving we give a new trust to another, exemplified by our risking being open, vulnerable, and receptive.

Forgiveness is freedom  Ho’oponopono is one of the most beautiful and profound ways we can practice  forgiveness, love, letting go and presence.
Sometimes we find it easier to forgive others rather than ourselves. Healing the relationship you have with your body is the foundation of all of your relationships. It all goes down to the following question:

WHAT DO YOU CHOOSE TO SEE IN THE MIRROR?

For years, this was really hard for me. I had a very bad relationship with my body. For years, I had a very negative self-talk, judgment, and practices. For years, I did’t felt beautiful and was very insecure because of this.

I was riddled with anxiety, cloaked in false confidence, chasing external validation and truly believing that if I just got this job, guy or size I’d feel enough. All while trying to make sense of who I was.

I had no idea what self-love meant… and that’s the thing. I guess most of us at some point had a negative relationship with our bodies.  We start to experience our bodies through our ego ( fears, insecurities) wishing to look or be X,Y,Z because what we have apparently is not good enough and we start to believe it!

The worst part of this is that our energy also starts running low… so we start attracting really weird situations and people that come to mirror  those beliefs. Until, one day you decide what to see in that mirror.

Ho’oponopono helped me so much!

Ho’oponopono is an ancient Hawaiian well-known for helping clear negativity, resentment from one’s mind and thought..The word “ho’o” means “cause” in Hawaiian, while “ponopono” means “perfection”. The term “ho’oponopono” can be translated as “correct a mistake” or “make it right”..This practice can be used for yourself or with the intention to forgive someone else.

Now, let’s get to work. There are 4 steps.

I love to do it in front of a mirror. Today I will teach you a way you can incorporate this practice while you meditate.

Find a comfortable sit and gently close your eyes.

Allow your breath to guide you. When you more centered set an intention for what you would like to release, transform or forgive.

For example, I want to transform the wrong perceptions I created for my body. I choose love.

Breathe in and out your intention. * If you want to forgive or heal your relationship with someone visualize them in front of you.

Gently invite the following phrases as a mantra and repeat them for a few minutes:

1.I’m sorry.

2.Please forgive me

3. I love you

4. Thank YOU..

Repeat. Feel.

Repeat.Release.

After, a few rounds release the mantra/the image of the person and gently open your eyes.

These four phrases seek to guide you through these four sentimental steps: repentance, forgiveness, love, and gratitude.Simply repeating these words can trigger the release of blockages, negative memories, and traumas so that you can take more control over your own body and life.Try them and let me know how it goes!!

Please remember, your body is LIGHT, a messenger of LOVE. Your body is DIVINE and it’s purpose is to be a vehicle of love and light.

Now let me ask yourself What do you choose to see in the mirror?

Roasted Carrots

I love carrots!!! They give us dynamism, color on our plates and have loads of benefits for our health and skin.

Health BENEFITS of carrots

  • Rich in vitamin A which is great for our skin. Although I don’t recommend long period of time in the sun, this brilliant vitamin can help us stay more protected.
  • Known as one of the most effective diuretic vegetables! This promote the reduction of our body storing excess fluid.
  • Build strong hair and nails thanks to the beta-carotene and provitamin A.
  • Promote healthy eyes. Beta-carotene helps to protect the surface of the eye (cornea), which is essential for functioning vision.
  • Boosts the immune system with the critical minerals iron, zinc and copper.

Energetic benefits

Did you know that Orange is the color of your second chakra? This chakra is associated is the centre of feeling, emotion, pleasure, sensuality, intimacy and connection.

The energy of this chakra allows you to let go, to move, and to feel change and transformation occurring within your body. It allows you to experience this moment as it is, in its own fullness.

My go-to Carrot Recipe

Preparation time 30 mins. Services 2-3 as a side dish or snack.

Ingredients

  • 8 carrots peeled, washed and cut into medium sized sticks
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon of sea salt
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Grated rind of 1/2 a lemon
  • 1 tablespoon of organic honey
  • Optional: sesame seeds, cacao nibs, dried cranberry, dates or blueberries

 

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190C/Gas Mark 5).
  2. Place carrots on a baking sheet. Line with parchment paper if not non-stick.
  3. Mix the coconut oil, honey and lemon in a small bowl.
  4. Coat the carrots liberally with this and lay out on the backing sheet.
  5. Sprinkle over the salt if desired.
  6. Place in oven and set timer for 25-30 minutes for roast until caramel/ brown.

Remove from oven and sprinkle with desired optional toppings!
